The Research Impact Fund (RIF) encourages local academics to pursue impactful and translational research that benefits the wider community, fostering collaboration beyond academia. It provides funding for projects with mandatory matching funds from universities or partners, with a maximum RGC contribution of HK$10 million per project.
Applicants must be academic staff members with full-time appointments at UGC-funded universities, holding staff grades from 'Professor' to 'Assistant Lecturer', primarily engaged in degree or higher degree work (at least 80% time), and wholly funded by the university. Visiting staff with full-time appointments covering the project period may also qualify.
