The Strategic Topics Grant (STG) supports collaborative research in specific areas that address important issues for Hong Kong. It adopts a top-down approach, with the current research domain being 'Demographic Change – Ageing Society', underpinned by three key subject areas: Health and Longevity in a Caring Community, Smart Technology and an Ageing Population, and Silver Society, Economy and Finance. Proposals are assessed on academic merit, potential impact on Hong Kong, and collaboration with stakeholders, especially in the Greater Bay Area.
Applicants eligible for the RGC General Research Fund (GRF) may apply. Each applicant can submit one application as Project Coordinator per round.
