The Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) supports multi-investigator, multi-disciplinary projects in UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong. It comprises three grant types: Collaborative Research Project Grant (CRPG) for cross-disciplinary/cross-institutional research, Collaborative Research Equipment Grant (CREG) for major shared equipment, and Young Collaborative Research Grant (YCRG) for early-career academics to gain leadership experience. Applications are invited annually via UGC-funded universities, with preliminary proposals shortlisted for full proposals and interviews.
Eligible applicants are academic staff at UGC-funded universities with full-time appointments, primarily engaged in degree or higher degree work, and wholly funded by the university. For YCRG, the PC must be within 3 years of an Associate Professor appointment or 12 years of post-doctoral experience, and at least half of Co-PIs must meet similar criteria.
