This scheme funds collaborative research proposals in any area of the social sciences within the remit of both ESRC and FAPESP, enabling UK-based researchers to work with overseas researchers in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The full economic cost (FEC) of the UK part of the project can range from £350,000 to £1 million, with ESRC funding 80% of FEC and FAPESP paying all Brazilian justified costs. Applications are submitted via the UKRI Funding Service and run as consecutive rounds with closing dates.
UK-based researchers at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding can apply. The scheme is open to collaborative research proposals in any area of the social sciences within the remit of both ESRC and FAPESP.
