BBSRC Brazil pump-priming award (FAPPA)

This scheme provides pump-priming funding for BBSRC-supported researchers in the UK to establish or enhance collaborations with FAPESP-supported researchers in São Paulo, Brazil. The funding supports travel, subsistence, workshops, exchanges, and modest direct research costs to gather preliminary data for future joint applications. Awards are up to £35,000 at 100% FEC over a maximum of two years, with Brazilian counterparts applying for equivalent funding from FAPESP.

Full eligibility text

Applicants must be project leads currently in receipt of a BBSRC research grant or be researchers in BBSRC strategically supported institutes working on Institute Core Grant Awards. They must meet standard BBSRC eligibility rules, and the grant must have at least six months remaining at the start of the FAPPA award. Students are not eligible.
