R H T Bates Postgraduate Scholarship

The R H T Bates Postgraduate Scholarship provides a study award of $6,000 for a PhD in the Physical Sciences and Engineering at a New Zealand university. Applicants must have physical sciences or engineering as a significant part of their undergraduate degree. At the time of application, students must be engaged in postgraduate studies (honours, masters, or doctorate), but final-year undergraduates are ineligible. To receive the scholarship, candidates must be enrolled for a doctorate at a New Zealand university and engaged in the course for the greater part of the scholarship period.
