The Money follows Researcher (MfR) process allows researchers who move abroad to continue receiving current SNSF funding. The project can either continue in Switzerland while being managed from abroad or be transferred to the new location. Applications may be submitted at any time, and the SNSF decides on a case-by-case basis how funds can be used or transferred.
Researchers who have an approved SNSF project or career grant and are moving abroad. The feasibility of the project must be guaranteed. For career grants, requests are considered at the earliest one year after project start, and a maximum of one year of transition can be requested.
