This joint Canada-UK-US initiative supports collaborative research to enhance resilience to wildfires in the wildland-urban interface. Projects must address at least two program aims, including developing interventions and solutions for adaptation, mitigation, and recovery. The Canadian investment is up to $9M total, with each of NSERC, SSHRC, and CIHR allocating $3M to fund four projects of three years duration.
Canadian university researchers eligible for NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR funding, with primary affiliation at an eligible Canadian postsecondary institution. Must include at least one UK academic collaborator eligible for UKRI funding; US collaborators optional. Co-applicants must also meet agency eligibility.
