The Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program supports the training and mentoring of highly qualified students and postdoctoral researchers through innovative training programs that encourage collaborative and integrative approaches, facilitate the transition of new researchers to productive employees, and foster professional skills development. It promotes student mobility, interdisciplinary research, and collaboration between academic and non-academic sectors. The program offers regular and international streams, with a specific call for quantum-related initiatives under the Defence Industrial Strategy.
Applicants must hold an eligible full-time position at an NSERC-eligible Canadian university and be from a natural sciences and engineering (NSE) field. Co-applicants must include at least one from each participating university, with at least 70% from NSE. Researchers can participate in a maximum of two CREATE grants/LOIs at a time, with a maximum of one as lead applicant.
