NSERC · CA · NSERC / Tri-Agency
This scheme funds Canadian university researchers participating in the Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action (CRA) 'Towards the ocean we want: biodiversity and ecosystem sustainability for nature and human well-being' (Ocean 2). It supports transdisciplinary, multinational research projects addressing ocean biodiversity and ecosystem sustainability, with NSERC providing Alliance-type grants to eligible Canadian teams. The competition involves a two-stage process: registration and full proposal, with NSERC funding up to $100,000 per year for three years.
Canadian university researchers eligible for NSERC funding can apply as principal applicant or co-applicant. Co-applicants must be academic researchers from Canadian universities meeting NSERC eligibility. College researchers meeting NSERC eligibility can participate as co-applicants. The principal applicant must work in an NSERC-supported research area and meet eligibility at time of application.
