The Discovery Grants program supports ongoing programs of research with long-term goals in the natural sciences and engineering at Canadian universities. It provides long-term operating funds to foster research excellence and strengthen the research training environment, allowing researchers flexibility to pursue new research interests within NSERC's mandate.
Applicants must be faculty members at an eligible Canadian university and meet NSERC's individual eligibility requirements. Adjunct professors may be eligible under certain conditions. Researchers can hold only one Discovery Grant at a time.
